As I mentioned in my conference post, BES is planning to take ecology public engagement activities to music festivals this summer as part of their centenary celebrations. The festival team has applied to Glastonbury, Green Man and couple of others, which should make for an exciting summer. There’s a contest to come up with ideas for activities, and the people with the best ideas will be invited to join the festival team and go to the festivals. If you’ve got any ideas for great activities, send them in by 13 Feb for your chance to get involved. Details of the competition are available here. The roadshow blog also has a post and short video from the public engagement session brainstorming session that was held at the conference which might help to get your creative juices flowing. Ideas so far include a Jellyfish Disco, Dung Beetle Gladiators and a Grossometer looking at the life growing on your festival kit. If you can top that, make sure you enter!
